Randy, Brian, and Cole Davis of Coatsville, PA and their good friend Patt Mann of Exton, PA joined the McManus camp for the one and only hunt held this year at this camp. The weather was of course just like the home camp, HOT. On the first evening hunt Patt wasted no time and called in a couple gobblers. The way these birds came running in, it sounded more like self defense. Patt's first bird was 22#, 8 3/4"brd, with 1"spurs. The next day after a morning of hunting Patt was waiting to be picked up, it was then he called in his second bird and put a tag on it. 18#, 8 3/8"brd, with 7/8"sprs.
On the first morning hunt Randy Davis called a megladon of a tom into range and put a tag on him. The bird was 25#, 9 3/8"brd, with 1 1/2" x 1 9/16"spurs. That's a huge TX Rio! Randy also tagged an 19#, 7 3/4"brd, 3/4"spr tom. Meanwhile, Brian and his son Colton had been calling and when least expected called up a couple of youngsters within range. Colton was able to line two up and successfully bagged two birds with one great shot. "No need to Waste Ammo" Colton's birds were 14#, 5 3/4"brd - 12#, triple beard 7"
After lunch and a short rest Brian and Colten were back out calling again. They had set up some decoys and a couple of gobblers came in to check them out. Brian bagged one tom, and another came in to check out what was all the commotion was and met his fate as well. 20#, 9 1/4"brd, with 1" spurs / 18# 8 3/4"brd, with 7/8" spurs.
